I am a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Philosophy Department at the University of Toronto. My PhD is from the University of Texas at Austin, where I was a doctoral student in the Joint Program for Ancient Philosophy.

I work on Ancient Greek philosophy, especially philosophy of language and metaphysics, with a focus on the Stoics. I am particularly interested in the Stoic theory of lekta, the development of theories of language and meaning in antiquity, and applications of the Stoic theory in contemporary philosophy of language. I discussed some of these issues and offered a new reconstruction of the structure of complete lekta in my dissertation, The Stoics on Language and Reality, which is the starting point for some of my current work on Stoic axiōmata and the Stoic account of reference.

While I work primarily on Hellenistic philosophy, I've also published papers on Plato's metaphysics and on the Presocratics (specifically on Eleatic metaphysics, science, and epistemology). You can read more about my work in these areas here. Outside of ancient philosophy, I am interested in questions about speech acts, the metaphysics of propositions, and comparative philosophy.
